• Rest in peace little girl

We have some heart breaking news to share tonight. We lost little Blitzen to the Rainbow Bridge just a little bit ago. She passed peacefully and naturally in our arms. We were able to spend some time with her, to hold her, to kiss her and make sure she knew she was loved. This photo is from yesterday as we feel she should be remembered as the cute, sweet puppy she was during her short time with us. The vets feel she was possibly born with a stint in her liver, which means instead of excreting waste normally the toxins and waste were pushed back into her body. There is no way to fix or cure the congenital defect. The other possibility is she was a victim of ‘failure to thrive’ from the lack of nourishment and care the mother didn’t get during pregnancy, then following the lack of nourishment following birth while nursing. We are very sad we weren’t able to do more for her. It’s been a rough year for our puppies. Please take a moment to send her a prayer, and stay cognizant of opportunities to educate others on the importance of responsible ownership which include consistent veterinary care and spaying and neutering your pets.
