MINA is a sweet little tootsie roll that just can’t be close enough to you! She is a snuggly pit mix that is about 5 years old. She came from the shelter after being there over 3 months – and it may not have been her first time there. Despite having a past without stability, she meshed right in at her foster home. We don't know what Mina's past was like, but we can assume that she never had toys of her own before. Due to this, Mina does best with toys that she can interact with on her own and that don't have to be shared with other dogs. She gets along well with her two fur foster brothers & enjoys playing outside with them. She also can’t be close enough to her foster parents – following them around the house & snuggling up on the couch. Although her crate isn’t her favorite place to be (she’d much rather be right next to you), she has no problems going in overnight and while her foster parents are at work. She’s working on basic commands and is learning them well. She loves taking walks outside and is working on her leash manners. If you are looking for a snuggly, sweet girl to add to your family, or a companion to play with your current pups, Mina would love to get to know you! We don’t know how she is around cats or children – although she’s never met a person she didn’t love. JACK is a roughly 1.5 year old male who is the perfect combination of snuggles and play. Jack was found by the dog warden as a stray, and spent a couple of months at the shelter before being rescued by AABR. Because he likely has never had a family to call his own, he was initially a bit timid about his new surroundings, but has transitioned into his foster family's home beautifully. He loves playing with his four-legged foster siblings; nothing is more fun for Jack than zooming around the back yard and letting the other dogs chase him. But he also loves curling up with his foster parents for some snuggles, or keeping himself occupied with a bone or toy on his bed. Jack doesn't miss a move his foster parents make, and follows them throughout the house like a shadow. Even though Jack is rather petite, he doesn't quite understand his own energy or the space he consumes. Because of that, Jack is not recommended for homes with small children. Jack has also met his foster family's cat, and while curious, has done very well with their introductions. If you are looking for a fun, silly boy to add to your family, or a companion to play with your current dog, Jack may be the perfect addition. MAXIMILIAN was rescued in late December 2016 from terrible conditions from severe neglect and brought to the attention of Adore-A-Bull rescue when his 'owners' brought him in to be euthanized for no reason other than they didn't have time for him. While we don't know much about his first four years of life, we do know that he absolutely loves his people! Although he does not do well with other dogs, he adores his human family. He is completely content to just hang out, watch TV, sit on the porch, or do just about anything the family does, His favorite activity is taking walks. He walks politely on a leash while he watches everything around him. Sometimes he even takes a toy with him! Max loves carrots, strawberries, and other natural snacks that are good for him and his special diet. He is completely house and crate trained and has been professionally trained as well. Max is a very enthusiastic dog that loves to get out and train/work. (Although his attention span is rather short! ha!). Max is very happy-go-lucky guy who will be the perfect addition to a family that has experience with dogs, but is currently without one. Hayden (FKA Barry Larkin) is back. We love this gentle soul, and wish his first forever home would have worked out, but sometimes that just doesn’t happen. However, our arms are always open to our dogs, and certainly his former fosters were happy to love on him again. Hayden is a beautiful four year old, brindle pittie mix. This sweet guy can be a little shy when you first meet him, but once he gets to know you, his favorite place is with his humans. Hayden has some issues with separation anxiety, but has been working hard on it through training and learning to trust that his humans will come back for him. He is fully trained and knows various commands and is happy just hanging out on his bed. He is house trained and will always let you know when it's time to go out. As of right now, we believe Hayden would do best as an only dog where he can be the apple of his owner’s eye. Hayden, has not been around small children or cats, so we aren’t sure how he would react. It is our feeling that, perhaps, older children who understand how to be gentle with dogs would be ok. Hayden will need a patient and understanding family that is willing to work with AABR to give him the best balance and continue his training. He has been through a full board and train program and is comfortable with all the people at Pet Athletic Club who have helped us transition him back into his foster home. Follow up and continued training will be a requirement withHayden…but trust us…he will be worth it! He’s a special boy and we know is true forever home is out there.
