MAXIMILIAN was rescued in late December 2016 from terrible conditions from severe neglect and brought to the attention of Adore-A-Bull rescue when his 'owners' brought him in to be euthanized for no reason other than they didn't have time for him. While we don't know much about his first four years of life, we do know that he absolutely loves his people! Although he does not do well with other dogs, he adores his human family. He is completely content to just hang out, watch TV, sit on the porch, or do just about anything the family does, His favorite activity is taking walks. He walks politely on a leash while he watches everything around him. Sometimes he even takes a toy with him! Max loves carrots, strawberries, and other natural snacks that are good for him and his special diet. He is completely house and crate trained and has been professionally trained as well. Max is a very enthusiastic dog that loves to get out and train/work. (Although his attention span is rather short! ha!). Max is very happy-go-lucky guy who will be the perfect addition to a family that has experience with dogs, but is currently without one. If you could combine George Clooney and the Energizer Bunny, your result will be GUNTHER! Born on June 5th, this handsome boy has no fear and is hilarious when he gets the “zoomies!" Sometimes running so fast his rear end takes a minute to catch up! The great part about Gunther is that even though he enjoys play time, he also relaxes and enjoys quiet time too. He does great in his crate or play pen settling down with a toy or just a comfy blanket for a nap. He is super curious and likes to check things out but will leave stuff he is not supposed to have alone. He takes correction very well and is learning that when he is tired it is not ok to become a grumpy butt! He loves to rough house with his foster sister, AABR Alum, Tootsie and his 185 lb English Mastiff foster brother, Hemi. His Foster Mommy’s favorite thing is when he snuggles in to take a nap – he loves to be cuddled and still suckles in his sleep. Gunther LOVES to have his ears and belly rubbed! He is a very smart boy and comes when called, understands “no”, has never had an accident in his crate and a very rare accident in the house. He will keep you giggling with his goofy run and smile and all the ladies will swoon over how handsome he is! If you are looking for a combination of sass, spunk and style then RACHEL is your girl! RACHEL is part of the FRIENDS litter who were born on June 5th. She has the daintiest little girl features with her crossed legs looking oh so innocent, yet can hang with the best when wrestling with her AABR foster brothers. She loves running in the yard but also content to play alone with her toys. She's a fantastic girl in her crate and sleeps 8 hours with no accidents and doing great with potty training in general. Bailey's foster parents cannot believe that this sweet girl has already been with them for five months as she has fit in so well! Bailey is a pittie mix, about 7 years-old, and around 65 lbs. Although she requires some patience and encouragement, she really has been easy peasy, fitting in nicely into their home and with their dog (her BFF)! Her foster family has watched this terrified and devastated girl learn how to accept love and to trust again. She now is a vocal, quirky lady! Although she may still be found hanging out in the bathroom on the mat or sneaking in some naps on her foster brother's bed, she typically now hangs out where ever the family is! Bailey wears her heart on her sleeve and you will see her bounce, spin, and shout in excitement while running around in the backyard. You will also see her anxiety if she is nervous when there is a loud noise or a new environment. With some reassurance she has learned each day that she is loved and safe. We would all love to see a happy ending for this sweet girl that has been repeatedly let down by people. The perfect family for her would be calm, patient, and loving. They would ideally also have a calm, confident dog to show Bailey the ropes and help her see that she is in a safe place. Whoever adopts Bailey is lucky beyond words as she will forever hold a place in her foster family's hearts.  If you are interested in BAILEY or any of our dogs, you must live in the greater Cincinnati, OH area. ESTELLE is the beautiful mama of the Friend’s litter who was rescued from the shelter after she had given birth. She is estimated to be around 2 years old. Estelle took great care of her puppies, and now that they are in their foster homes, it is her time to shine! She is an amazingly easy dog with so much love to give. Estelle loves following her foster parents around and is totally content with lounging any time of the day. She is completely housebroken, crate trained and is working on mastering simple commands such as sit, down, and stay. She doesn't have much interest in playing with other dogs, but will happily keep herself occupied while chewing on an antler or smoky bone. Estelle does great with cats but has not been around children. If you are looking for a snuggly addition who can compete with anyone's snoring, Estelle is your girl! She has proven to be gentle, loyal, and loving and would make a great addition to any household! If you are interested in ESTELLE or any of our dogs, you must live in the greater Cincinnati, OH area. Hayden (FKA Barry Larkin) is back. We love this gentle soul, and wish his first forever home would have worked out, but sometimes that just doesn’t happen. However, our arms are always open to our dogs, and certainly his former fosters were happy to love on him again. Hayden is a beautiful four year old, brindle pittie mix. This sweet guy can be a little shy when you first meet him, but once he gets to know you, his favorite place is with his humans. Hayden has some issues with separation anxiety, but has been working hard on it through training and learning to trust that his humans will come back for him. He is fully trained and knows various commands and is happy just hanging out on his bed. He is house trained and will always let you know when it's time to go out. As of right now, we believe Hayden would do best as an only dog where he can be the apple of his owner’s eye. Hayden, has not been around small children or cats, so we aren’t sure how he would react. It is our feeling that, perhaps, older children who understand how to be gentle with dogs would be ok. Hayden will need a patient and understanding family that is willing to work with AABR to give him the best balance and continue his training. He has been through a full board and train program and is comfortable with all the people at Pet Athletic Club who have helped us transition him back into his foster home. Follow up and continued training will be a requirement withHayden…but trust us…he will be worth it! He’s a special boy and we know is true forever home is out there. RUSTY is finally ready to meet the world! This cutie pie is about 1 1/2 years old and has a had a rough start in life so far, but that is now turning around! A good samaritan found him as a stray this summer and it was soon discovered that he was battling heartworm disease. Heartworm disease can be fatal if untreated, and the course of treatment can be very painful and difficult for dogs, requiring several weeks of strict crate rest. Unfortunately for Rusty, he had a severe allergic reaction to a medication used to kill heartworms, which delayed further treatment and extended his recovery by an extra month. Rusty is ball of energy, and no doubt all this crate rest has given him a case of cabin fever! While he is excellent in a crate (calm, quiet, no messes, doesn't tear up bedding), he can't wait to get out and explore! Rusty is athletic but just a little guy at 40 lbs, so you wouldn't guess he has the strength of superman! He is finally cleared to begin training and is learning proper leash etiquette and basic commands. He is attentive and seems like he will be a quick learner. We aren't sure yet how Rusty is with other dogs or cats since he is just coming off activity restrictions. He gets overly worked up when he sees new dogs while in a cage or on leash, but he shows little interest in the cats or dogs that he is familiar with in his foster home. Rusty is a sweetheart with people and craves attention. Stay tuned for updates as we get to know the real Rusty better!
